Dr. Uma Swaminathan, our distinguished Advisor and founding member of The Monmouth Center in 1994, has been elected as the new president of the Assoc. of Indians in America – NJ Chapter. Uma is a cultural anthropologist specializing in the medicinal value of herbs and spices in indigenous cultures. She is a classical Bharatnatyam dancer, an author, and has her private pilot’s license.
