Oct 6, 2019:  Polarization is tearing America apart. What can bring us together? David Blankenhorn will address the causes and potential cures regarding the crisis of our time – political polarization, which can be defined as our loss of trust in one another as citizens and the fear that our political opponents are not simply misguided but are bad people. He will also ask us to consider the advantages that Americans have when it comes to confronting this great challenge.

David Blankenhorn is president and co-founder of Better Angels, a citizens’ organization uniting Americans in a working alliance to depolarize America. David also led the Institute for American Values, a think-tank on civil society. He was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. He earned degrees from Harvard and the University of Warwick in England. He now lives in New York City. The mission of Better Angels (now Braver Angels) is to try to understand the other side’s point of view, even if we don’t agree with it. We engage those with whom we disagree, looking for common ground and ways to work together. We support principles that bring us together rather than divide us.
