MOSAIC TEENS to join in to try to END HUNGER BY 2030!
Our Teens and friends will become “hunger champions” for the organization RISE AGAINST HUNGER, on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Temple Shaari Emeth in Manalapan, to literally package 10,000 meals!
The “Rise Against Hunger” event is an interactive packaging experience like no other. A group of 40-50 volunteers can package more than 10,000 meals in just 2 hours! Volunteers are one of the essential resources that Rise Against Hunger needs to help realize the vision of a world without hunger. Did you know that 66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world? RAH is driven by a mission to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable and creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources. RAH has partnered with the United Nations to try to end hunger by 2030.
Another core focus of Rise Against Hunger is to respond to crises both natural and man-made. From droughts to floods, in conflict zones and transitioning political situations, food is often the most immediate need. Responses to these needs occur not only around the world but right here in the United States in areas such as Puerto Rico and mainland United States after devastating hurricanes.
Our teams of volunteers will prepare dry ingredients of rice, soy, vitamins and minerals which are put into bags which are sealed and stored. Each bag contains six (6) life-saving meals of nourishment. This exciting and fun event will fulfill one of the outreach commitments to alleviate hunger both here and abroad whenever food is needed.
Rise Against Hunger will partner with our Teens and Faith Leaders of MOSAIC to put into practice what all faiths believe — “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” (Mother Theresa)
Please sponsor our MOSAIC Teens to help raise the resources to package 10,000 meals on March 11th. Each meal that is packaged, costs thirty (30) cents!!!
